I use Google reader as my RSS reader, and I have subscribed to the News page of my WordPress site using this, and it works fine (using the feed
https://pawsny.org/?feed=rss2). However, when I try to add this RSS feed to the home page of the site (which is a static page, btw, and I use 42k theme), it only shows the most recent news item, no matter how many I check off that I’d like shown, and when I paste the feed into a browser, it automatically reverts to feed://pawsny.org/feed.

Since the RSS feed seems to work fine with Google Reader, I’m not sure where the problem lies, and where to start troubleshooting. Anyone have any ideas? The URL for the site itself is https://pawsny.org, and the News page (the page I want to have as my RSS feed) is https://pawsny.org/news.

Since you have permalinks enabled, your “correct” feed URL is https://pawsny.org/feed but both will work just fine.

At Settings/Reading in your admin panel, what do you have set for “Syndication feeds show the most recent [x] items?”

macmanx, that did it. I was overthinking this and didn’t even think to check that setting. Problem solved. Thanks!!
