• I have been going crazy all day here. I have taken over a WordPress blog hosted on our website at work. I installed the WP Stats plugin and when I click retrieve API and I sign grab my key I get “The owner of that API Key (xxxx) is not on the access list for this blog (14313352). To be added to the access list, you must contact support.” I then try to use the API of the profile that set up the old blog on WordPress and it still won’t let me. I have two valid API keys that aren’t working. Please help. Im going nuts!

  • Hi there,

I have the same problem with the same error message (WP 3.0 / WordPress.com Stats plugin 1.7.2).

I already contacted the wordpress.com support team several times and I also started a thread in the wordpress.com support forum but so far I got no official reaction.

It′s not like I′m impatient, but there are several other threads with similar problems, some of them older than a year and with no clear solution to the problem.

In fact, it seems to me that neither wordpress.com nor www.remarpro.com feel responsible for problems that accrue to people using wordpress.com services/plugins for their self hosted wp-blogs.

So you are not the only one going nuts here. ^_~

    Hi there again,

today I got an answer from the wordpress.com support team by mail.
They fixed the problem and the wordpress.com stats plugin works fine now, though I wasn′t told what the actual cause for the error was.

To all who have this problem too: conatct the wordpress.com support team, hope for the best and be patient. ^_~
