• Hi there, I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I bought the premium settings plugin extension with a license for one website, I was testing it in another domain but I removed it, (and it 100% isn’t active anywhere else) – but yet I cannot activate the plugin at my website where I’d like to use it for some reason, can you give me any pointers as to why it isn’t working?

I think this particular license has expired now but that shouldn’t render it unusable now for me, should it? I bought it for one site so I should still be able to use it on one site, shouldn’t I?

I’m using the latest versions of everything.

    Thank you for your help
    Kind regards

    Hi @kir-2012,

Yes, you should be able to use the plugin on your site with an expired license key. The license key might not get activated, but you should be able to activate and use the plugin.

Are you seeing any error messages related to the activation of the plugin?

Hi there, thanks for your reply, yes I thought so, and no I’m afraid I don’t receive any errors, but it shows that it has activated, and then with the next refresh the status reverts to deactivated, if that helps any?

I checked in my login at your plugin url and there’s 100% no domain registered there so it isn’t active elsewhere. Are you able to add my url at your site if I message or email you it privately to see if that helps? I’ll need your email address (is it info@yourdomain?) as I can’t submit a ticket there at the moment.

    Kind thanks

    Hi @kir-2012,

    Sorry about the delay.

Navigate to the Plugins page of your site and try activating the plugin from there ( rather than from the Extensions page ). If it is already activated, deactivate it then activate again and see if it works.

Also, which version of the Premium Settings are you using? It is possible that the version that you are using is not compatible with the current version of GEO my WP.

Hi. sorry I put this down for a bit when I didn’t hear back, I just picked it up again. Thanks for your reply, unfortunately it didn’t work. I’m using Version 2.4.3.2 – does it function with the current version? If no, which version does it work up to? Thanks

When I go to ‘manage sites’ in my login at your site and look at the purchase, there are no sites active for it under manage sites. Can you add my website? I don’t seem to be able to find a way to do it through the website i’m building nor through my login at your site. I don’t want to share the site info here so I will email you now. Thanks

Additional info in the hope that it is helpful: I can activate the plugin via the plugins page, and there it remains in that state, however it doesn’t show as active in the extensions tab.

I’m unable to activate the licence of course as it’s not current.

I can click activate in the extensions tab, and it will update as activated, and show the ‘deactivate’ option – however immediately as the page is refreshed it becomes inactive again.

    Hi @kir-2012,

Version 2.4.3.2 of the Premium Settings won’t work with GEO my WP v3.7+. You will need to either downgrade GEO my WP to v3.6.3.2 or update the Premium Settings extension to its latest version.

You can download the previous versions of GEO my WP from this page. You could downgrade and test it to see if that it is indeed the issue.

I would, of course, always recommend staying up to date with the plugins for many reasons. Especially now when GEO my WP v4.0 is in beta ( read here ).

    I hope this helps.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi thanks for this, I will try that for now but yes I will certainly be upgrading shortly. Thanks again

Hi, as it turns out the geomywp install I was using was already that version, I had copied it from the last time I was working on the project along with the instance of premium settings. So I have that version installed, but it doesn’t work, it activates, but immediately deactivates upon refresh. Can you think of any solution?

    Hi @kir-2012,

I am not sure what’s causing the issue.

You can try downgrading GEO my WP to 3.6 just in case I was mistaken with the version that will work with your version of the Premium Settings.

I can also add your site’s URL to your license key, but I don’t think this would make a difference since the license key is expired. But I am happy to try. I will just need you to email me the license key and the site’s URL.
