Whenever I’m trying to add an archive page I can’t make it because it simply shows me a message: “There is no default product to show preview. Please add a “Simple Type” product first”. I have a variable product in my store, after adding a single product I can change the settings but after removing the temporary product it returns the “There is no default product to show preview. Please add a “Simple Type” product first” again…

Is there any solution to this?

  • Hi @unrealpixel ,

Let me clear this for you. ShopEngine is a Woocommerce template-based plugin. In order to create a template with ShopEngine plugin, at least one product in WooCommerce should be a simple type product. Only the Simple product type is allowed to load a product in the Elementor Editor so that you can customize that product or the product page according to your needs.

If you don’t want to show the product on your Shop page, then just add the product and make the status draft instead of publishing it. In this way, the message will not appear and you will be able to use ShopEngine plugin.

Let me know if that helps or if you need further assistance in this matter. I will be happy to help you.

“Only the Simple product type is allowed to load a product in the Elementor Editor” this isn’t the case for other elements in elementor, this is literally the only plugin I’ve ever seen using this tactic, its terrible.

    Uninstalled the plugin, its garbage

I have a question, Can you please explain how to make a Simple Type product. Do I create this in ShopEngine or Elementor?

    Hello, @millionairesuccess
    Hope you are doing well.

You will be able to create a Simple Type Product or make an existing product as a Simple Product from the Product Section of WooCommerce. Please check this screenshot for a better understanding.
