• After installing translating plugin in my site some of the words are being automatically changed. As far I have noticed changing ???? to ’bout and ?????? to ‘casue.

    This happens to all the translate plugins I used and had seen threads opened by other users with these words.

    What I am doing till now is changing loclae of default language from ne_NP to ne only as I am making Nepali default language. But changing locale is not allowed here. I tried both WPML and Translatepress but only way to function with out these issues was to change locale.

    I have herd we can do this my changing or updating to .mo file too but I dont have any idea on it.

    Is it possible to change the locale from ne_NP to in my case?

    Is there any way I can solve the issue?

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi,

    don’t change the lcoale but the code
    Falang > Language > Edit your language

    it’s not possible to change the locale on falang because the locale is used to store the data in the meta like title_fr_fr if you change it you loose your translation.

    i have for nepali this configuration

    'ne_NP' => array(
    		'code'     => 'ne',
    		'locale'   => 'ne_NP',
    		'name'     => '??????',
    		'dir'      => 'ltr',
    		'flag'     => 'np',
    		'facebook' => 'ne_NP',

    just for test you can change it in wp-content/plugins/falang/includes/languages.php

    you will loose all yours translation make with the other locale but it’s a test site

    Nepali it’s not a known language for me but the documentation says it’s ne_NP for locale

    I just update it to

    `’ne_NP’ => array(
    ‘code’ => ‘ne’,
    ‘locale’ => ‘ne’,
    ‘name’ => ‘??????’,
    ‘dir’ => ‘ltr’,
    ‘flag’ => ‘np’,
    ‘facebook’ => ‘ne_NP’,`

    But still having same issue. I came to know that its all wordpress issue. I am currently using locale as ne only instead of ne_NP in Translatepress plugin and was doing same in WPML too.

    Could you please find any other solution to resolve it. Thank you

    The locale in WordPress for Nepali is ne_NP, it’s internal use
    you can change in Falang the code to have it to be displayed in the url like

    mysite/ne/my_url

    Some word are changed due to the WordPress language file and other plugin language file if they are define.

    there are plugin locotranslate to edit this language file.

    You have to contact locotranslate support not Falang.

    Sounds like you are trying to advice me to uninstall Falang and use locotranslate to translate my site? I am confused.

    Hi,

    no, i was probably not clear enought

    Falang can translate the dynamic item (menu/post/products/) string when it’s possible by the plugin creator.
    But there are some static text define in the plugin language file (.pot) this string can be translated with locotranslate (it’s probably the best plugin for that)

    i see the link of your site but can you put a screencapture of the problem ?

    Best regards,
    Stéphane

    Hi,

    Thanks for the screenshot but on the url you give me in the screenshot all seem to work normally on https://www.[site url] but not on m.[site url]
    The screenshot it’s on post translation , it’s falang plugin who manage it.

    just to be sure You’re default language is nepali and you translate it to english

    The screen capture show me a post in nepali edition and with problem in front-end but falang don’t look for translation in default language. the english version seem to work

    Did you change the default language during the translation ?

    I am using translatepress to translate my site in www mysite dot com and m dot mysite is for testing purpose in which I have installed falang to translate. I havent change default language while translating.

    Initially there was same error in translatepress too but when I change language locale from Ne_np to Ne only, this issue was resolved. So I was wondering if we can change it? Or is there any other way to resolve the issue? thanks
