I require my visitors to log in to view my content. When they are not logged in, they are redirected to the login / register form. On the login form there is a link ‘Lost your password?’ to reset your password. Visiting the password reset page is not possible, because the plugin redirects non-logged in users back to the login form, which makes it impossible to reset your password when logged out. Is it possible to exclude this password reset page from the ‘must be logged in to view’ settings, just like the login and register page are?

    My current settings are:
General: Logged in users can see content
Protection: Redirect to custom url mydomain.com/login/
Content: is a page or is a post

    Hey @annaryker,

    That’s a great question.

I had to reread it a couple of times to figure out what you’re asking. Please disregard my original reply (apologies).

Can you try adding an AND condition to exclude your reset password page in your restriction? Here’s what works for us.

    Hi, @mlchaves.

I don’t have the password reset page in the list of available pages. Did you create a dedicated password reset page that replaces the standard wp password reset form?

    Hey @annaryker,

Thanks for clarifying. Sorry, we assumed you had a custom reset page based on your redirect URL example.

What’s the URL of your password reset?

If the URL is the standard WordPress link, that should already be excluded (i.e., not restricted). Meaning, it should come up fine even with any restrictions.

Here’s an example of the built-in WordPress link.

    https://twenty-twentyone.local/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword

Here’s a demo of how that should work fine with a Content Control restriction.

But, if you’ve got a custom link, must make sure you’re adding the correct reset password page to your AND Is Not A Selected Page rule. You might have more than one because plugins can install their own reset pages.

If it’s none of the above, you might need to rule out a plugin or theme conflict. You can follow the standard steps here.

Hi @mlchaves, thank you for your reply.
    I resolved my issue.
Woocommerce was the culprit. This plugin changes the password reset url from
    mydomain.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
    to:
    mydomain.com/my-account/lost-password/

You can undo this via Woocommerce settings > advanced > Page Setup > Account endpoints.
Delete the text ‘my-account’ from the ‘lost password’ endpoint.
Now there’s no longer an issue.

Thank you very much for your support and your awesome plugin!

    Hey @annaryker,

You’re very welcome. We’re glad that it’s working now.

Thanks so much for sharing your solution with everybody ??

It’s people like you who make WordPress so awesome!

Hi @mlchaves we’re not able to access and/or exclude our password reset page /my-account/lost-password/ when not logged in. It’s the standard WordPress link. Here is our login page https://supplies-hazmatresource.com/login-page/ and associated password reset page https://supplies-hazmatresource.com/my-account/lost-password/

I tried Restriction Editor > Content – Is Not – Pages: Child of – My account (ID: 43) but no luck. Thank you for sharing thoughts on how to access the Lost Password page when not logged in.
