Images not appearing in media gallery after url move

  • I successfully moved my site from my local machine to a webserver (by using the export/import feature and then doing using search&replace plugin to change all instances of the old url to the new url), and all the images appear on the webpages, but the thumbnails do not (even though they do in the admin section of each page). Also, none of them register in the media gallery (I changed the media folder in the misc settings but still says “no media attachments found”).

    I also tried changing the media folder permissions to 777, but still no go.

    Any advice besides re-uploading everything (the connection here is very slow)

  • You have to check the “Download and import file attachments” box after you’ve uploaded the XML file to the new blog.

    I just tried this on 3.0.1…

    I have a similar situation… with 3.04
    When I first imported an XML file, it did upload the files.
    The second time – no dice!

    777 permission thing doesn’t work either… yes, i DO check the chechbox ??
