    Hello –

WF was running fine on all of our sites previous to this update, now it is showing this message on every site we’ve updated where it wasn’t there before:

    Scan Failed
The scan has failed to start. This is often because the site either cannot make outbound requests or is blocked from connecting to itself.

Why is this happening, not just on one site, but every one we have updated.

    Thanks

Hi @viablethought, thanks for your message.

This hasn’t been a running theme with our customers since the most recent updates to WordPress and Wordfence but I’ll certainly try to see why it’s affected all of your sites. Firstly, are they all hosted on the same configuration or with the same hosting provider? If so, I could take a diagnostics report from one of the sites that could potentially point to a way of kicking scans back into action for all of them.

I would kindly ask that you first look at our scan troubleshooting to see if any of the suggestions there help you out: https://www.wordfence.com/help/scan/troubleshooting/

Failing that, if it’s easy enough to provide the diagnostics from one site that would be representative of what’s happening on your other sites, please send one over to wftest @ wordfence . com. You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

NOTE: It should look as follows – Screenshot of Tools > Diagnostic > Send by Email

    Thanks,

    Peter.
