Allow anyone to post

    Hi All,
    I’m using the P2 theme and would like to allow anyone to post without requiring a login. I want the status update box that is on the homepage when logged in to show up to anyone. Any ideas? Would it be as easy as taking out the require login check functions?

  • This is a fabulously terrible idea. Even if this were possible, you could expect your site to be overrun by scriptbots within days. Akismet (and every other spam plugin) ignore anything from post authors, so that wouldn’t help, either.

    Well, I think this is a great idea too, I am using Facebook Connect to simplify the registering, but is not the same, I want a site where anybody can post without register.

    Perhaps is a way to filter spam on posts, not only on comments using akismet, I really don’t know ??

    An option could be TDO Mini Forms plugins, but is horrible, if we can use the native form of P2 Would be fantastic!!

    Absolutely. The Akismet API can be adapted for almost any application with submitted content, including forums, wikis, and contact forms. If you want to adapt it for a different system, please join our development community.

    So… we can use Akismet as an spam filter
