Canonical tags/meta property tags not updating

    Hi, I have just put my site live but when checking the canonical tags/meta links they have not updated and they are still showing the old URL. How long does this take to update?

    Hi @emeraldcolour

    In 99% of cases, you don’t need to modify the canonical URL field output, as it should usually self-canonicalize regarding the canonical URL output.

    Just to clarify, could you provide us with a sample URL where this is occurring so we can try and check on this further? Did you edit this post or page and go to the advanced tab of the Yoast SEO meta box and enter a custom field for the canonical?
