Google search console : “sitemap cannot be read”

  • Hello,

    When I submit the sitemap adress to Google Search Console, I have the following error message :

    Sitemap cannot be read

    I have no idea where to start.

  • Same here. Sometimes is correct, sometimes says readed but empty

    Hi, please make sure the sitemap can be opened in a browser. Preferably, use a “anonymous” browser window (where you are not logged into your site) to see what others would see. Then use an online sitemap validation sites (search for “xml sitemap validation”) to verify if your sitemap code is valid.

    @elbores are you having this issue with the regular sitemap or the news sitemap? If the latter, then make sure to post news at least once per day.
