• Since the most recent update, the masonry gallery no longer displays correctly. It appears that the team has changed how the plugin displays these blocks and have broken the functionality.

On a previous post of mine, seen here: ([ redundant link removed ]), the masonry layout is achieve using UL/LI html code with absolute positioning.

When I make a new post after updating the plugin, the new posts are Figure elements and have no absolute positioning applied which means they don’t display in a masonry style.

    Please fix!

    Hi @createwithnomad,

It is true that the Masonry gallery has changed. For instance, the layout has essentially changed from rows to columns making the order of the gallery different. It is also true that the Ul/LI style is now different and the current structure is figure with nested figure > img elements. The Masonry layout is now CSS-based and does not rely on JavaScript to accomplish its layout.

I have not been able to replace a case where the new version of the Masonry block does not render in a masonry style. Please provide a bit more information about that.

    Best,

    Anthony

Chiming in here, all of our masonry gallery blocks after one of the most recent updates. The block currently says

“This block has encountered an error and cannot be previewed”

At first I thought this was perhaps an issue with existing content that used this block.

I then went to a new article to add the masonry gallery and it displayed that same error in the block.

    Has anyone else seen this?

Sorry to hijack the thread but hopefully this’ll be helpful for others!

I’m currently on WP version 5.8.3 if that helps as I’ve been holding off doing the update to 5.9.1 but I wonder if that’s the issue here?

    Hi @goingawesomeplaces,

There was an issue discovered with some galleries on published pages that were set up using old versions of CoBlocks. This issue has been resolved and we have pushed out a patch release of 2.22.1 which resolves the issue specified.

Do you mind testing the new version and letting us know what your results are? If you encounter further issues please do make a new support request where we can continue to investigate.

    Best regards,

    Anthony

Hi @paranoia1906, yes I’d be happy to test out the new version to see if it fixes the issue.

I’ve looked closer and I’ve seen the same issue with carousel galleries as well.

@paranoia1906, I just updated to 2.22.1 as it just came out today and it seemed to have fixed the first gallery but proceeding masonry galleries are showing up as “Tihis block contains unexpected or invalid content” and is looking for me to “Attempt Block Recovery”.

The page I’m testing is: https://goingawesomeplaces.com/iceland-travel-guide-the-ultimate-8-day-road-trip-itinerary/

@paranoia1906, just an update here – still no luck with quite a number of blocks that are still broken. Does the team have eyes on this? I’ve seen another update since 2.22.1 but it still doesn’t work. Thanks!
