• Hi
All of a sudden, when I go to the widgets section, I get a WP editor unexpected error. The button “copy the error” does nothing, so I have no idea where this is coming from or how to solve it. The editor does not seem to affect writing pages and posts.

The website is not online yet, so giving you the link is pointless. I do not know if this sudden error with the editor in the widget section would have an effect online.

I deactivated the most recently installed plug in in case that caused the conflict, no change. I emptied the cache, no change.

I’m using the Draftly theme and am on WP 5.8.3

    Thanks for your help!

  • Hi Waimanalo,

Since you’ve already tried deactivating plugins, please try switching to the WP default theme as well, this is to rule out if there is any conflict between WordPress itself and with your theme.

You can also check if there is any error in the browser dev console while you are in the widget area. That could help you troubleshoot the error.

Try re-installing WordPress in Dashboard > Updates as well, sometimes this works, and it fixes corrupted core files on your server (if there is any).

    Hi

I tested the health and troubleshooting plugin and it did not find any errors or conflicts among plugins.

I found a way to get the content of the error found in the widgets editor. Copy pasting below, it is totally incomprehensible to me and I’d be much grateful if someone knew what it meant!

All was working fine until SendinBlue fixed a script to enable the activation of marketing automation in its WP plugin. I’m wondering is that caused anything. I deactivated that plug in and cleared the cache, but no change.

OK, went into maintenance mode, activated the default theme, and tested the plug-ins one by one, each time trying to see if the widgets editor worked.

The problem gets triggered when jetpack is activated.

Odd thing is jetpack is the first plugin I installed and there had been no issue until now. So I have no clue what the problem really is or how to fix it — I do find jetpack rather useful!!!

If anyone has a clue, I’d be grateful
