previewing other pages / listing links on home page.

Hi everyone,

I have two things I am trying to do, and I’m hoping there is an easy solution to these problems.

First off I have a lot of files like documents (.doc/pdf) and presentations (mostly video) that will be uploaded. It would be nice to have a section of my site that was paginated and displayed these files in some sort of css styled table, listed from by the most recent posted. (having the option to change the listing type would be neat but thats not a priority).

2nd problem I need to solve is that when I am on the home page, I have several sections that need to display. 3 of which need to be pulling information off other pages on my site. So one section would display the latest 5 or so documents that were uploaded, and the next section would display the latest 5 videos, and the last section would be for updates. I’d use the blog section for that so that should be fairly simple I would imagine.

Anyway, if anyone has any ideas, maybe some plugins? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks ??
