• I used NexGen Gallery about 10 years ago, and have come back to it to add some galleries to a blog.

Its workflow is really kind of primitive and modal, but the big issue is its (lack of) error handling on uploads. If there’s a problem with a file — none of the files in a batch get uploaded. So really, you need to it one at a time.

And even if it tells you it has uploaded some of the files — it’s not true.

I have had enough problems trying upload images today that I think it’s worth looking for alternatives.

    Hi @wmconlon,

We are sorry to hear of the encountered issues. As far as I am know – we are not being aware of such global problems with the uploader so we hope that you wouldn’t mind reaching to us directly using the Report a Bug https://www.imagely.com/report-bug/ form so we could have a look at it.

There are no such known restrictions that’d enforce uploading one image at a time and NGG will normally continue to try uploading the rest of the images in case that one of the images is broken and couldn’t be uploaded unless the uploader has bumped into a server-side timeout of any sort that had prevented the further requests from NGG’s side.

Just as a FYI that we are planning a complete revamp of NextGen Gallery’s UI to improve the experience and make it more user-friendly.

    Thanks!
