Can’t log in to admin page

  • I just started wordpress through my hosting site, host gator, and downloaded wordpress. I got confirmation that everything is installed, and got the email confirming my login and password, but when I go to the admin login page to start creating my blog, I type in my username and password, and the page just resets instead of logging me in. It doesn’t even say “incorrect password” or anything, simply reloads/clears. Any ideas?

  • Since this is a new install, why not try installing it again. This is an easy quick first step since it only takes a couple minutes to do.

    Did you install manually or through the hostgator quick install?

    I prefer to always to this installation manually so that it allows more control over the install, database name etc.
