I suppose they are the same plugin but I wanted you to clarify the differences between Frontend Admin and ACF Frontend.
I see that the 2 plugins continue to be updated and they are in different versions, could you explain the differences?
If they are the same plugin, which is the main one or the one to use, Frontend Admin or ACF Frontend?

    Thank you.

  • I would like to know too. It makes no sense to me that ACF Frontend says it requires ACF to function, because I use it to create regular posts with regular post data whether there are ACF or not… And I assume Frontend Admin supports custom fields, so what exactly IS the difference?

    Hello

Thank you for the great questions!

Originally, we created ACF Frontend for a project we were working on that required frontend forms with advanced custom fields. We were so happy with it, we decided to share it with the world. Many ACF users really loved it and so we kept adding more features.

Eventually, we received more and more requests to make a version that doesn’t require ACF. Finally, we released Frontend Admin. This doesn’t require ACF be installed. This is the only advantage it has over ACF Frontend. If we could go back and release Frontend Admin instead of ACF Frontend, we would, since Frontend Admin can work with or without ACF. The issue is that there are nearly 10,000 people using ACF Frontend and we don’t want to force them to move to Frontend Admin.

Moving forward, ACF Frontend and Frontend Admin will both continue to receive the same updates. If you were to ask me which one I use, I now always use Frontend Admin since it doesn’t require me to have ACF installed.
