We have begun using the AMP plugin in “transitional mode” on our woocommerce site with flatsome theme. Not ideal, I know. We’ll eventually find a more compatible theme, but in the meantime..

We use WooCommerce Product Video Gallery plugin to create a slider with a YouTube iframe player in the primary position and photos in the rest of the gallery. On the amp pages, the slider is still there, swipeable, with all photos included. However, the plugin removes the video and the arrows indicating that it’s a slider. And, because we have the video loading as the first image, the gallery appears as a blank white space with no indication that the visitor can/should swipe to see more photos.

What, if anything, can I do to get the video back?

    Thank you!

    Hello @1chicagodave

Thank you for the support topic and sorry for the inconvenience caused and yes both WooCommerce and Flatsome themes are not AMP compatible.

WooCommerce is not yet fully compatible, but it can be configured to work at a basic level.

    1) I will suggest disabling AMP on cart and checkout pages

    2) Update cart behavior settings to redirect on adding a product in cart and disabling Ajax add to cart check on from Archive.

Additionally, I will suggest using the AMP Enhancer plugin, it can help you in addressing some Incompatibilities in WoCommerce, (I discovered a bug in AMP Enahcer with WooCommerce and link above is the patched version for it, don’t download the plugin from the official repo, it may break your site )

AMP enhancer might be able to fix the default product gallery by WooCommerce but not the WooCommerce Product Video Gallery, you can post Videos in the product description, for now, I will check from my end if we can make it AMP-compatible using an add-on or Extension.

    Hope this helps!
