Please suggest how to stop such announcement on every page while editing-

    Ditty v3.0.6

Ditty News Ticker has now become Ditty!

This major upgrade includes a complete rebuild of the Ditty News Ticker package. Due to the size of the ugrade we opted to create a new Ditty post type that you can start using right away. Ditty offers you more control over the display and look of your content, along with many highly requested features.

     Live Updates
     Live Editing
     Global Rendering
     Mix & Match Content
     Customized Displays
     Customized Layouts
Don't worry, all of your existing News Tickers will still work! Although, we do urge you to start upgrading and updating your tickers to the new Ditty post type. Ditty News Ticker is now relegated to legacy code and there will be very limited updates from this point on. Most development time will now be assigned to Ditty along with existing and new Ditty extensions. Legacy News Tickers can be enabled on the Advanced tab of the Ditty > Settings page.

It should go away after clicking the close/x button on the top right. Does it keep showing up after clicking that button?

yes, continiously on every page, post. I am tired of clicking on x button. It is taking too much space too. Please release an update or tell me how to stop such display

@metaphorcreations could you please support or any alternative?

Sorry about that. It should not display anymore after clicking the close button. I wonder if you have a javascript error happening in your dashboard? When you click the close button, there is javascript setup to save data that you closed it and it should not appear again.

If you open your browser’s developer tools do you see any errors in the console tab? Here is a link showing how to view the developer tools https://updraftplus.com/faqs/how-do-i-open-my-browsers-developer-tools/

Let me know what you find out. Regardless of this, I think I’ll change up the functionality to only use PHP in case of javascript errors. I’ll release an update a little later today with this change. Once that is done the data should save correctly regardless of javascript errors.

Thanks. I also think that an update will be helpful. Please release asap

Version 3.0.7 has been released and you should now be able to remove the notice. It’ll still show initially, and you’ll need to close it out one last time.

    HI @metaphorcreations,

The new update (most recent) seems to be a problem. Actually the issue of that announcement went off automatically when i followed the suggested steps.

Now the plugin is conflicting and causing Nonce check failed error, and json parse etc. Please check otherwise move to previous version.

I checked by deactivating th eplugin, and everything back to normaL.

Can you provide some more details on when and where this error is showing up, and steps taken to reproduce it? I am not seeing this issue on any of my sites.

It’s possible there may be some conflict with another plugin or your theme. If you could help track down the particular other plugin or theme that is conflicting it will help me find a solution to your particular issue. Please run through the following article (keeping Ditty activate) and let me know what you find out.

    Thanks!

@abhisheksanjay I did find a minor php issue in the widget.php file of this plugin that may be the cause for the error you saw. Please update when you get a chance and let me know if the error persists. Thanks!

You are right. I think you should release the update. I can see poor coding here

The update is released. If you have further support questions, please create a new ticket with a new topic to help others out.

If you see code that you think could be improved, please feel free to contribute to the plugin https://bitbucket.org/meta4creations/ditty-news-ticker/src/master/

    Thanks!
