how to de-protect

I have created a password-protected section with provision for members to apply for registration. It’s not working and has been a nightmare. I want to abandon the whole business of protection and registration and leave the section open to the whole word. I can’t see how to do that. I’ve seen advice that I should click on Edit alongside ‘visibility.’ There is no Edit alongside ‘visibility.’
