Cannot Preview Draft event posts

    Hello there,

    We run a WordPress platform of 6 main brand web sites, hosting publishing and events products and services, and are using the Events Manager plugin in our solution, across all sites.

    Wordpress version 5.8.2
    php version 7.3.32
    Events Manager plugin version 5.12.1

    I have come across an issue and wonder if the root cause could lie within the Events Manager plugin?

    We cannot preview draft event posts – clicking the Preview link on these draft event posts results in a ‘Sorry… this page could not be found’ error. Not all posts however; some….

    Whilst investigating on one site, the differentiating factor between preview success and failure between draft event posts, appeared to be the inclusion of Location details, but the logic did not translate to any of the other sites. Moreover, I could not see any further plain differences between such posts.

    And on one site, I found an occurrence of a published event post resulting the same page not found error.

    A rollback to a previous version of the plugin did not resolve the issue, neither did re-updating to the current version.

    I’d be interested in your thoughts and advice on these findings in terms of a permanent fix and what could be causing these problems, or if indeed this problem is related to Events Manager?…

    (I am currently working around the issue by posting privately, to obtain an accessible temporary external Url).

    I would suggest that you try installing our WP Safe Mode plugin, to rule out whether another plugin or your theme could be causing this. This can be done via the regular plugin installer and searching “WP Safe Mode”. With that, you can test your site with other plugins deactivated and running a default theme such as Twenty Twenty without it affecting your other visitors.
