Can you give me an example? In general when payment fails the status of order should be Failed.

it seems sometimes the capture doesn’t work automatically, and I have to capture manually, so at that moment the status change to ‘on-hold’

my settings are selected to ‘Authorize and Capture the payment when the order is placed.’

I can guess that on your log you can found an issue related to the Checkout session ID. If thats the case, developers are working on a fix.
