    Hi
In our WC Logs there is an error with maxmind-geolocations that advises “the URL is not a valid IP adress”

Is a change required in WordFence settings to correct this error?

    Many thanks

Hi @undergroundengland123, thanks for getting in touch.

I could see a Gravity forms Javascript error upon visiting your site, but haven’t seen anything on the front-end that may suggest the Maxmind library is failing at that point when it may be picking up visitor location, so it’d be helpful to see a copy of the log entries you speak of.

Could you paste those entries here with timestamps if possible? Feel free to obscure a few characters of URLs or IPs you don’t want to be seen publicly.

    Thanks,

    Peter.

    Hi @undergroundengland123,

I’ve just noticed that these aren’t regular PHP Notices as they’re in the WooCommerce log rather than your WordPress or PHP/server logs. Unless you’re noticing a problem with IP detection on your site, such as being locked out by Wordfence yourself when another user caused the block, then I don’t think Wordfence is causing this.

WooCommerce also uses the Maxmind Geolocation library so it looks like your site address is being passed somewhere rather than the IP. I’m not sure if this is a setting you can change in WooCommerce or it’s happening due to a bug/error. As it’s a “notice” rather than “fatal”, I don’t expect it to be causing any site-breaking effects. It could still be worth checking in with WC support to see if they can find a resolution for you.

    Thanks,

    Peter.
