Showing the last post of a grid in a different format

I’ve set up a custom loop with a custom grid to show posts left and right in different sizes. However, if there are not enough posts to cover the last row, then one of them will be shown small, because there is no post to show on the right side.

I would like to show that last post in a bigger size, when there is no other post next to it. Is that somehow achievable with a custom grid, or a premium version of ele custom skin?

I was even thinking about using some dynamic conditions – like hiding one of the columns and having the other one stretch to the full width – but no success yet.

Any helpers?
