    Hello there,
Is there any problem with EU Cookie Law plugin?
After downloading it and doing the setup at Settings>EU Cookie Law as explained, nothing happened whatsoever. My WP version is 5.8.2, would that be a problem?

Couldn’t even access Demo: https://www.sanpellegrinoterme.gov.it to see it in action.

True, I’m not a coder so I wouldn’t be able to do any fancy stuff with it but I thought this was supposed to be working out of the box or at least be able to see an example to follow. None of that happened.

Jus wonder if I could use a similar free plugin to comply with EU law – GDPR and CCPA.

    Every suggestion is very welcome.

    Thank you,
    Daniel

  • Not sure if the plugin is in active development but it still works on the sites I run it on. To see it in action it helps sometimes to visit your site in incognito browser and/or delete all site cookies first.

After visiting your site I don’t see the plugin activated. Maybe you moved on BUT I also see some javascript errors that may be the cause it’s not working properly.

(If you use chrome or firefox; right click your mouse, choose inspector and console. You see the errors)

You can debug by disabling all other plugins and enabling those one by one. If this is not the answer it can also be theme related. To check this you can temporary enable a different theme.

Thank you Bianca for taking the time to answer,

I deleted the plugin altogether. It didn’t work for me after many hours of waiting for the scan to complete and being able to customize the banner, over 24 hrs. Installed Cookieyes and the setup was a breeze.

Thank you as well for the javascript errors you’ve noticed. I’ll get to it first thing tomorrow morning.

    Best,
