    We found this online:
    https://www.lexology.com/library/detail.aspx?g=ba52938f-d0ac-4430-8f71-92f38360d063

Our plugin is very flexible so you can set it up anyhow you like to comply with the guidelines in your local region.

    Hope this helps.

This is the Finnish interpretation of the new guidelines:
    https://www.kyberturvallisuuskeskus.fi/sites/default/files/media/file/Guidance_on_the_use_of_web_cookies_for_the_service_providers.pdf

It says: If an “Accept or allow all” selection is offered for granting consent for all cookies on the top level of the consent mechanism, a similar option to continue using the service only with essential cookies or to withdraw consent for non-essential cookies should also be offered.

Is it possible to add a “Accept necessary cookies” button to the banner in the current version?

    Hello, thanks for your help.
I’m referring to this article I’ve found on iubenda.com, here is the link of the Italian version:

    https://www.iubenda.com/it/help/49690-nuove-regole-sui-cookie?l_tok=I6wP926dKIsaiV2Xpp&l_email=da7101540a1361ebf39754501b803358&utm_source=vero&utm_medium=email&utm_content=control&utm_campaign=20211116_it_cpl_garante&utm_term=Newsletter&vero_id=fa34bafa96eb35ed2ac4&vero_conv=41UteSgO08K0Tufotwcj7XykNtaZpuVgVKtxvWxw7kVpTV4rLeZ82B0Hdqk_YxEIpGCBhgfl2-DdoIexKPk1c5tdYH2Mud6o

and here is the text I translated in English. What do you think should I do with the plugin?

    `New rules on cookies</strong>
    Effective from January 10th
What does it mean for me?
You will need to check how you collect consent to cookies to adapt to the new rules of the Privacy Guarantor.

In my case, do I need it?
If you are based in Italy or your users are in Italy, you must refer to the new rules.

What happens if I don’t comply?
If you do not comply, the consent to the cookies you acquire will be considered invalid in the eyes of the law. This puts you in violation of the GDPR and at risk of penalties and fines of up to € 20,000,000.

    What is the deadline?
January 10, but we recommend activating the Cookie Preferences Register as soon as possible to avoid requesting a new consent after January 10.

    How to adapt
Details can be found in our detailed guide. Here is a summary.

    As soon as possible
    activate the Cookie Preferences Register
    By January 10th
Access the Cookie Solution configuration: Dashboard → Select your site → Click on “Edit” under Cookie Solution
Enable “Show Accept and Customize Buttons” and “Show Reject Button”
Enable “Allow specific control with consent by category”
    Disable “Consent to continue browsing”
Verify that you have activated the Cookie Preferences Register
    Furthermore
If you display advertising on your sites and then use IAB’s Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF), disable legitimate interest
If you have changed the duration of the preference cookie, make sure that the duration is set to at least 6 months (the default is 12 months)
If your site allows navigation only if you accept cookies (so-called Cookie Wall), disable this function which is not considered lawful by the Guarantor
Verify your configuration by January 10th.`

    Hello,

Our plugin is very flexible so you can set it up anyhow you like to comply with the guidelines in your local region.

For now, we won’t be adding “Accept necessary cookies” button. The plugin already has lots of settings so adding another layer would make it very complicated to use.

Users can click ‘Settings’ button and accept only the ‘Strictly Necessary Cookies’ so there already is the ‘option to continue using the service only with essential cookies’ implemented as port of our plugin.

Enable “Show Accept and Customize Buttons” and “Show Reject Button”

    – already part of our plugin (Accept, Reject and Settings buttons)

Enable “Allow specific control with consent by category”

    – already part of our plugin (Strictly Necessary, 3rd party, Additional cookies > you can rename the categories however you like, for example: Strictly Necessary, Marketing, Performance cookies)

    Disable “Consent to continue browsing”

    – already part of our plugin

If you have changed the duration of the preference cookie, make sure that the duration is set to at least 6 months (the default is 12 months)

    – already part of our plugin

If your site allows navigation only if you accept cookies (so-called Cookie Wall), disable this function

    – already part of our plugin, you can switch off the cookie wall (actually it’s a pr3mium feature anyway)

    Hope this helps.

    Hello, thanks for your help.
This topic is very difficult for me, so I ask you if you please can check the cookie settings on this website:

    https://www.nuovasida.it/

And tell me what I should change in the plug-in to be compliant with the new Italian guidelines as above.

I thank you very much if you can help me.

    Hi @jaripp

Is it possible to add a “Accept necessary cookies” button to the banner in the current version?

We found a way to display “Accept necessary cookies” button using the existing functionality.

You can see that working on our site:
    https://www.mooveagency.com/

We renamed the ‘Reject’ button to ‘Essential Only’.

Why we believe this solution works?

If the cookies are truly essential, then user can only reject the optional cookies anyway, right?

The Strictly Necessary/Essential cookies are not managed by our plugin anyway (those are hard-code strings or generated by WordPress itself once user log-ins etc.) so our plugin cannot manage them anyway.

That is why we believe our ‘Reject’ button can be considered as ‘Essential Only’ button too.

    Hope this helps.
