FYI: Backup completed despite error about “internal server error?

This e-mail tells you that something like fatal error was logged out to the global logs during backup process.

It’s difficult to tell what happened right now, but for now I think that could happen:
– Automatic backup was initialized with default backup method e.g. PHP CLI
– But it failed due to unknown error, we have handler for such case
– Handler triggered new process with new method and this time it worked making the backup

In any case, we should look for some more details in the global logs.

I have similar issue so tried to run it manually instead of scheduled and it gets to 100% but doesn’t complete. Here’s the love log:

Please for the future, open new topic as we may not get proper notification for your post, as well author of the post may get unwanted e-mails of it.

But as you already did it in that topic:
1. Firstly, check if the backup is visible on the backup list.
– Sometimes PHP CLI can send wrong/empty response, then you won’t see success msg

2. Backup list can display only valid backups, so don’t worry about it.
– If you received error or no success window appeared but the backup is visible on the list, that means the backup is valid and restorable.

Now something for you to test out on your server:
1. Go to “Other options” section
2. Try to disable PHP CLI checking: https://prnt.sc/1sljr31
– That will switch backup method, not sure if this one can finish on your site
3. If that finishes successfully you can use it for automatic backups
3.1. If the backup fails with this option, continue to next step
4. Then please, try to use this backup method: https://prnt.sc/1s1ofpa

This method should work as it’s the most stable one, but a bit limited.
You can’t use automatic backup with this method.

We’ll check PHP CLI responses and improve it in future release ??

Sorry about adding to this thread assumed it was the protocol since issue was similar. Ok, I was able to successfully, manually, do backup to two of my client domains.

Yet one particular domain will not backup and I see where it is freezing during running backup process. These logs show where it stopped. I waited a while then stopped the backup.

That’s great that you managed to make it work on some sites ??

The third site you mention and the logs belongs to, seems to be giant.
There are above 6,5 million records in the database, usually WP blogs are below 100k.

The first table size, “wpew_actionscheduler_actions” is 939 MB.
This one table weights almost the same as average website (entire website).

That causes the process to be very slow, slow enough to seem like hanged up.

––– Possible solution?
1. I noticed that you also have a lot of tables, probably many sites runs the same database – it’s highly recommended to split websites with separated databases.

2. This table is actually larger than it should, it’s default WordPress table, I think it may be that size because of some broken plugin that went into loop. I’d need to check your site information in more detailed way in order to let you know if that would help you, but you can empty this table to see what will happen.

Summary:
1. You need to separate your databases, optimize them.
2. Empty all rows of “wpew_actionscheduler_actions”.
3. Look for next table that may be larger than usual.

For now this site does not seem possible to be backed up without dedicated methods, or without some fixes inside.

Nevertheless your backup log looks fine to me.
The only thing that I could recommend is to disable PHP CLI:
