    Hello,

Since installing the ‘Geolocate with page caching support’ feature by Woocommerce, website urls are being appended with hash- ?v=XXXXXX and there has been a very high reduction in the bounce rates.

To give some perspective, the bounce rates as seen in Google Analytics have decreased from around 50% to 20% on average.

Not sure, if this is something common that’s a result of the Woocommerce feature or some tracking setup issue. Could not find any help online.

Does anyone have any suggestions or inputs?

    Thanks,`
    Einstein

    Hi @einstein45

Can you please clear the cache of your cache plugin and let us know your observations? You need to manually clear the cache of your cache plugin and your hosting provider after enabled Load products price in background. You can read more on this here: https://www.pricebasedcountry.com/docs/getting-started/geolocation-cache-support/

Hi @margaretwporg thank you for your reply.

I use WP Rocket for caching and will be clearing the cache manually. I will update you in 2-3 days after I have enough data to check the bounce rates.

    Thank you for your help.

Hi @margaretwporg , hope all is well.

Even after clearing the hosting cache (Kinsta) as well as the plugin one (WP rocket) we did not find the bounce rate issue to be resolved.

The rest of the tracking looks fine. Any more inputs on what else might be causing this?

    Hi @einstein45,

I understand that you activated the Geolocate (with page caching support) option and you’re noticing a decrease in the bounce rate on your site, that being the percentage of users that land on your page and leave.

If a customer from a specific country visits your page, s/he will get a hash based on that particular country – so that s/he will only see a cached version of your page from other customers that have previously visited the same page.

Having a cached page means that the page will load faster and retain the user more also because it’s country-specific, and as a result, the bounce rate should decrease since we all know that most users leave a slow-loading page within the first few seconds.

I believe this might be an explanation but let us know if you have more questions!

Hi @rainfallnixfig , thank you for the inputs. Even I think that could be the reason. I’ll definitely get back to you in case I have any questions. Many thanks.

Great! Since the thread is now closed you may want to create a new topic if you have any further questions.

    Have a nice day!
