We’ve been experiencing failed orders every day with this plugin. I talked to some of our customer while they’re on our website and I found this: For some of those failed orders, they can see the PayPal option, but Credit Card options is not showing. We’ve enabled the PayPal Card Processing, and many people use the credit card option so it does work and most people see the option on our website. But for some people, the credit cards option doesn’t even show. This is losing us orders and money. Prior to this we were using the PayPal Pro plugin and that worked perfectly to take credit cards on our website. But that’s being replaced by this new plugin, which is causing us SO much difficulty.

    Hi @calicogirl,

Apologies for the trouble with the credit card payments.
For now, disabling the PayPal Card Processing and using the default credit card smart button instead may yield more consistent results until we have a better idea about what’s causing this issue for you.

Could you please share with us a link to your site so we could take a closer look?
Even better would be a copy of your WooCommerce system report and your latest PayPal Payments log files.
The system report can be accessed from here:
WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Copy for support
You can share it either here in the forums or privately with us from here:

    Thanks!

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

    Niklas,

I disabled the PayPal Card Processing, and reactivated the PayPal Pro plugin for now. The PayPal Pro plug works very well and we haven’t experienced any failed transactions with that. I see many other people are also experiencing failed transactions. I hope it’s all solved before next spring when the other Paypal plugins will officially be discontinued.

I have started experiencing something similar on my site. One thing I learned is that with PayPal Card Processing enabled, as soon as the page is loaded, it looks like PayPal Standard is the first to load just long enough for someone to click on it before the intended PayPal Checkout buttons load.

As soon as someone clicks on the PayPal Standard equivalent button, this causes the page to refresh and a Failed Order email will send via WooCommerce. If you wait another second, the right PayPal buttons will load and everything works as expected.

If PayPal Card Processing is disabled, this still happens but the new buttons load much quicker and there isnt enough time to click on the old button before the new ones are generated.

    Hi @calicogirl,

There are currently many potential reasons for orders to incorrectly end up in a Failed status but the upcoming plugin update will resolve many of them.
With the Disable funding sources setting you can also remove the credit card button in PayPal Payments if you use PayPal Pro for credit cards for now.
We anticipate the upcoming update to yield better results though and it should arrive in the coming days.

What @zoonars is not wrong, it may take a few seconds until the regular button is exchanged with the smart buttons after changing the settings and the regular button does not work. We are working with PayPal to speed this up, but there is currently not so much we can do about the initial load time.
But for eventual questions or issue reports please create a separate thread as these are likely two different issues that only end in a similar result.

    Kind regards,
    Niklas
