How to sort selected categories alphabetically and chronologically in post edit

Hi, how can I prevent the default way wordpress rearranges the order of categories after they have been checked in the Categories select box. I would like to always see the hierarchy of my categories also after selecting and saving a post, and not have it list selected categories towards the top of the list. Or even both at the top and as they are placed in the hierarchy.
