A tag removed from excerpt

Hi,

I’m adding a custom “Read more” link to the excerpt from functions.php.

“Read more” is correctly displayed but the link is not active.

It seems that there is a kind of formatting that removes the a tag from the excerpt.

is there a way to avoid that?
