WooCommerce checkout page for visually impaired
-
Hi there.
I have created a website for an NGO (primarily focused on visually impaired people). They intend to sell accessibility equipment to visually impaired people. Everything is working fine. The only problem lies on the WooCommerce checkout page (and the “create an account” page) where entering the suburb name (for delivery purposes) is required.
When using the tab function to get to the suburb dropdown list, it is expected that a person clicks inside the form field to enter the suburb’s name. It is possible to use tab to get to the suburb field. If I press enter in order to add the suburb the form requires of me to click the mouse cursor in the Suburb “text field”. However when I click on the mentioned field and start typing in the name of the suburb it provides a list that I can scroll down to select the correct suburb.
When I find the correct suburb I press enter after which the suburb is selected and I can continue to the next field that needs to be completed. A free screen reader (NVDA) does not guide me through a process similar to the described visual process of clicking in the relevant field.
How can I address this problem in WooCommerce? Your advice is appreciated.
