Duotone not Working

    Hi,
    With Autoptimize activated, the WordPress Duotone function stops working. After applying and saving Duotone over an image, the effect disappears once the article is published.

    It seems autoptimize inhibits the duotone ability to work.

    Is there any remedy for this issue.

    First and foremost try to identify what is breaking things by just disabling CSS or JS or HTML or Image optimization (incl. lazyload). Based on that we can see what the next steps need to be ??

    Upon inspecting each of the check boxes, I found that the following second last option on the settings page was affecting the duotone.

    “Also optimize for logged in editors/ administrators?”

    I thought it must be the CSS or the html optimization that was causing the issue, but strangely the above option was the one that was triggering the issue, which is not making sense.

    Anyhow, checking and unchecking the above option clearly toggled the duotone function ON/OFF after publishing the article.

    Hmmm, you’re right in expecting that disabling HTML or CSS or JS or lazyload or image optimiization (or one of the options on the “extra” tab) should fix the issue too ..

    If you keep “optimize for logged in administrators” but disable all optimizations, does the problem still persist?

    Understood…

    It is actually the following option which is causing the issue:

    “Also aggregate inline CSS?
    …Check this option for Autoptimize to also aggregate CSS in the HTML”

    Unchecking this option, allows the duotone to work correctly.
