    Hello!

There is a checkbox is your plugin’s settings page: “Disable WooCommerce Status Meta Box
Enabling this option will remove WooCommerce Status Meta Box from WordPress Dashboard.”
I have this unchecked but the WooCommerce Status Meta Box is still missing from WP dashboard and can not be turned back on only if I disable your plugin completely (which is what I do not want to do).
Please let me know if I am missing something or if this is a known bug which will be fixed.
    Thank you!
    Kindest regards,
    Endre

  • I also have the same issue and have not yet found a way around it, seemly even if I revert the core WC / WP / DWB software the problem persists. Please advice and than you.

    Same issue here

Same. I got it back by reverting to Woocommerce 5.6.1 – both 5.7.1 and 5.8 is where it disappears.

ETA: Nope, when I updated WordPress 5.7.3 to 5.8.1 it disappeared again. So I rolled that back too but it is still not there. Even disabling your plugin doesn’t bring it back now!
Fortunately I’m on a Staging site but means I won’t be able to update either Woo or WordPress for the moment.

Okay I got it all working. I restored the previous database (after reverting to WC 5.6.1 and WP 5.7.3).

Staus Metabox on this plugin remained unchecked, Disable Dashboard Widget Setup was checked. Updated to WP 5.8.1 and Metabox stayed there. Then I updated to Woo 5.8 and it was still there.

As I’m on the Staging site, not the live and had to revert the database, this may not work for some of you guys, but doing it in that order – upgrade WP first, THEN WC might do the trick for you.

EDITED: Oh FFS it has just disappeared again! It was there a minute ago and now that stupid dashboard setup is back. Seems WC 5.6.1 is the latest it can go without losing the Status box. 5.7.1 and 5.8.0 both lose it. Oh well, I’ll stick with 5.6.1 for a while longer.

I just updated to WC 5.9.0 (and WP 5.8.2) and the issue is gone. Everything is up and running perfectly (WC status meta box is being displayed instead of the WC setup box). Hopefully updating to WC 5.9.0 works for you all as well.

I have checked again and found that the widget is still missing (WC 5.9.0, WP 5.8.2).
I have disabled the “Disable WooCommerce Bloat” plugin and the WC widget was back on WP dashboard – but without any sales data which is nonsense as we are in the high season and selling huge amounts of stuff every day.
So I just clicked on the net sales data (showing 0) and found that it takes right to the “new” WC analytics page – which has not been populated with data as it was turned off all the time.
So it seems to me that the WC widget is directly linked to the new WC admin stuff, which slows down the backend if it is turned on ??
This means for me that I will let this WC widget thing go bye-bye with all the new WC bloat stuff.
Sad but not the end of the world.
I mark this thread as resolved now.

I found a simple way around the mess of advertising that WC does now, it’s simple, just use css display none on the divs you want to hide in a snippet, it’s not the best solution, but better than nothing. No plugin I tried can do it correctly and I think I tried everything, without conflicts and or side effects unless it stays up to date as change happens all the time.

WC’s direction seems to be changing as well to be more connected to what they offer / sale and it’s going to become more and more that way into the future. You can already see things are getting bloated with ads, even third party plugins that you pay for are going this way as well, a complete mess if you ask me and I want nothing to do with that mess.

Less is more, but not everyone thinks this way.

If you think about it, to hide all these places without conflict, will take some serious time and to keep it up to date will also take allot of time, this is allot to ask for free, so I get it

I think someone needs to make a plugin that is paid service and keeps up with all the changes, but make the plugin affordably as well, so everyone can buy it.

The key would be anytime there is a change in the framework, updates are made at the same time, so testing will be key on any beta and or release candidate software.
