Disable Emojis Site-Wide

  • i have Disable emojis enabled , but it still causes me problems and is really slowing the site down.
    GT Metrics is showing it loading and the waterfall shows its impact.
    How do i get rid of this damn thing?

    @gawcusa I’ve just re-tested the option “Disable Emojis Site-Wide” and everything works fine! Have you cleared the caching of your pages? Perhaps you’re using Cloudflare or a plugin that supports page caching such as WP Rocket. It should work fine without any problems.

    Are you comfortable sharing your website’s URL here? Can you load the page (any page since the option is triggering site-wide) and append a random query string to it such as /?wpacu1234 so you will load an uncached page (or just test this while you’re logged in) and then check the source code and lookup for “_wpemojiSettings” while viewing the HTML source code. It shouldn’t find it if “Disable Emojis Site-Wide” is enabled.
