Card Processing payer_email field changed

I reverted to v1.5.1 due to critical error on website, disconnected the manual PayPal setup and then connected to Payapal using the wizard.
VISA card payment was sucessful however the IPN data from PayPal did not have the payer_email entered during checkout, instead it returned;
this resulted in the buyer not getting the email containing their order.
as I am using v1.5.1 I can’t provide any debug logs for the API call.
