    Hello support!
In my ecommerce platform I have registration and login page for the product buyers. But I need an additional subscription page for those who wanted to read information posted on our page daily. So I downloaded and activated Paid Memberships plugin, but can’t subscribe users (whose email address phone number) that already exist in my wordpress website.(peoples registered as a product customer). Can I have a separate database for Paid Memberships plugin members? Or is there another way I can use to separate this 2 different types of registration with different objectives?

    Hi @sebsibieethiopia

Paid Memberships Pro adds membership access onto the default WordPress user account.

You are able to manually edit user’s to give them a membership level for pre-existing customers by editing their WordPress profile and giving them a membership level.

This means they will use their same account details to access membership content, but the membership information is stored in a separate table within the WordPress database.

Can you explain what you mean by having a separate type of registration? By default Paid Memberships Pro generates it’s own checkout page and can be separate from your online store checkout.

Thank you for the fast reply.
Here it is …. We have 2 kinds of customers (we offer 2 kinds of services…. online shopping and information display). We request subscription for both.
    1. customers who wants to buy products in our platform.
    2. customers who wants to read information posted on our page not to buy a product.
We want to handle this 2 different categories of customers separately. We are using paid memberships plugin to register the 2nd types of customers only. But when a customer already registered as number 1, tries to register on number 2, the plugin replies “This e-mail is already registered. Please choose another one.”. We need the plugin to cross check the email address and phone number only from its list of members not from the wordpress users list.
What we want is : to enable a customer to register in both services if he or she wants.

WordPress only allows one email per WordPress account. User’s that belong to group 1, may login to their account and then purchase their membership level.

This will give them access to both areas of your site. If you need to tweak this further, it may require custom development. I recommend reaching out to a local WordPress developer if you need to tweak it further.

    Oh ya Thank you.
I never tested the plugin that way. Now it worked good.
    Thanks again!
