• Is there any way to roll back the updated header? It has ruined the entire look we had created on both desktop and mobile versions. It is very difficult to customize and has a lot of glitches.

  • Hi @checknerd,

    Please try these steps:

    1. Visit yoursite[DOT]com/wp-admin/options.php
    2. Find the sydney-update-header line using your web browser’s finder menu (CTRL+F)
    3. Change the value to 0 and save. Here is your visual guide for this.

    Hope this reply helps.

    Kharis

    Thanks @kharisblank, that worked for me too. My site was an absolute mess for a while there – the header appeared twice!

    It works, yes

    Kharis, thank you for your kind response. I ended up restoring the theme from a previous backup. I am not sure if it will automatically update again, but if it does, then I will try your suggestion.

    But is it really an option with “future-potential” to just disable it?

    Isn’t there a “guide” about “how to set everything as it was before in the header

    I have to agree with @thalakus. ‘Road crashing’ existing headers for the sake of new features does not encourage long term Sydney users to see the ‘future potential’ in this aThemes product.

    @kharisblank do you have some guide about how to restore the previous looks in the new header-update?

    Best regards!

    Agree with @gjt1000.

    I did run into two issues. After clicking on “Ugrade Theme Header” the header appeared two times and the footer was gone.
    After changing sydney-update-header to value 0 the old header appeared. I then changed the theme to 2021 aand then back to Sydney. Upgrade Theme Header again made the header appear two times.
    If you want to check my site, it’s Trabalis.de
    Any suggestion what I should do?

    Greetings @nimrod54. Your experience was exactly the same as mine. I had to manually reinstate the footers and have left “sydney-update-header” as 0. I had a good fiddle around with the upgraded header, but could not get rid of the duplication.

    Been thinking @kharisblank. If this is what happens when you move from 1.80 to 1.81, what is moving 2.0 going to be like!?

    Hi,

    We’re going to add an option to revert back to the old header for people who prefer it. Other than that, it’s just cache, try refreshing your page, please.

    Kharis, the theme reverted back, so your solution worked except the site title is now white instead of the color selected.

    Vlad, that would be helpful. thank you.

    Just FYI – I fixed the site title font color using the following CSS:

    .site-title a {
    color: #fff !important;
    }

    @vladff , I cleared cache, refreshed my site and it did not help
