    Hello!

I’m creating a bilingual site (English-Spanish) and I have anchor/id links in my main menu.

When I’m on the English page, the custom link with the anchor in the menu works.

    Example:

On the English site, the menu tab “Governments” uses href=”/#govern” and it scrolls down to the location of the anchor/redirects to part of the page with anchor, if you’re on another page.

-After translating to Spanish, the link in the same tab “Administraciones públicas” changes to “/es”, without the anchor on the end, consequently the anchor link does not work. The anchor simply disappears in the translation.
I’ve checked several resolved forum posts with the same question, but I couldn’t see the solution.

Could you help me fix this issue? I really enjoyed using Translate Press.

    Thank you!`

    Hui,

I see all anchors from your menu are losing their links when you switch to Spanish.
First, please try a compatibility test. Disable all other plugins and enable the default Twenty Twenty theme. Please also disable all add-ons. If this fixes the problem, enable everything one by one, checking each time to see when the problem returns.

    Hi Alex,

Thank you for your answer. I did as instructed but disabling all plugins and add-ons and changing to the default theme Twenty Twenty didn’t make any difference. Only when I disable Elementor, anchors stop working in the English version too.

If I keep Elementor only enabled, then anchors keep disappearing in the Spanish site in both themes.

Any other ideas I could try?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I see now that link is working? How did you fix it exactly?

    Hi Alex,

I finally had to ask a friend to patch the code of the plugin. We realised Translatepress design does not include anchors, as it can be seen here: https://imgur.com/mRW0Oem

So he included the following code to force anchors in URLs: https://imgur.com/UHqipNp

I hope this bug is fixed in future updates, this is a great translation tool but useless for many without this feature.
