cannot display fullsize photo

I show my photos starting with 14 albums at the top level. Clicking an album opens a new page with thumbnails of all of the photos in the album. It used to be that when you clicked on the thumbnail it opened that photo on a separate pages as a full size image. I had settings Links>II: Links from standard images>Thumbnail>the fullsize photo on its own. Sometime in the past week or so it stopped working and displays a new page with the link “View 14 albums and 0 photos (283)” but doesn’t show the photo.

As some semblance of a workaround I’ve changed the thumbnail setting to “the fullsize photo in a slideshow”. The issue with this is that it doesn’t start the slideshow at that photo but at least it is a photo.

Any help on what I need to do to display “the fullsize photo on it own is greatly appreciated.
