Hide composite in cart – only show components

  • The site I’m working on uses WPC Composite Products and WPC Grouped Products. They only use Composite Products because the layout is nice for the end user. Function-wise, we really need WPC Grouped Products I think.

    So… Is there a way to add only the component to the cart, not the composite? The composite messes up our sales calculations, our bulk discounting, and our user experience. Users try to adjust the amount of products they bought in the cart, but that messes them up because they changed the quantity on the product page.

    If I can’t add only the component… is there any way to make the WPC Grouped Products look more like the link I added?

    The composite listings are setup into 3 categories, however, because of another plugin, the middle category has to have is products posted in 2 listings. This makes it look strange when we set it up in a grouped product (see this link to see what I mean, the digital access section is made of two product listings, an English product and a Spanish product. Each product has 3 variations.)

    If I can’t add the individual components instead of the composite, is there a way to group products into dropdowns like WPC Composites in WPC Grouped Products? I’m happy to buy the premium plugin of either one if we can get it to work.

    With WPC Composite Products, you can exclude the main composite from the order by using the below snippet (How to add custom code?):

    add_filter( 'woocommerce_order_get_items', 'wooco_exclude_composite_from_order', 10, 1 );
function wooco_exclude_composite_from_order( $items ) {
	foreach ( $items as $key => $item ) {
		if ( $item->meta_exists( 'wooco_ids' ) || $item->meta_exists( '_wooco_ids' ) ) {
			unset( $items[ $key ] );
		}
	}

	return $items;
}
