Blank page for blog??
-
Not Sure if this is the right place but i am trying to understand a situation on my new site.
When i setup my first ever WP site my host helped me with the basics. the one thing they had me do in in the Pages section of the WP dashboard was to setup a page for home page and my blog page and give the blog page name of the blog I am using.
Then they had me go to setting, reading, and select that page for the blog Page in the the Posts settings.
I then installed elegant themes Divi, built the basic website.
Once done I went to their theme builder for divi and made three global templates that utilize the Divi Blog modules.
Everything for the blog is working but during cleanup I realized I realized I still have that original blog page I setup in the pages section of the WP dashboard when I first started. This page has NOTHING in it, if I unpublish it the blog still works as designed but when I run Semrush site audit I get a concnical error.
I am not sure what the purpose of that blank page is, if it is really needed, does it cause a problem with the google bot.
I am also using Rank math and see it puts the blog link in both the index and blog index sitemaps. Seems odd to have it listed twice. If i unpublished the page I originally setup I am not sure how I would add the SEO description for the blog or fix the con conical error that appears.
I hope this makes sense and someone can advise as ti if this is right or if there is a problem I need to address and how to address it.
Thanks
