Can’t Delete All Blocks in one Page or Post

  • 1. Due to Gutenberg – if a text article of 1000 words with 10 paragraphs is copied from a word processor or unformatted text such as Notepad into Gutenberg Paragraph Block

    – it creates 10 different Paragraph Blocks on the Page or Post.

    2. If suppose you want to publish a revised article – this Gutenberg asks to remove each of the 10 Paragraph Blocks if you want to remove all the text and paste the new 1000 words.

    3. This way, it will take forever for anyone using Gutenberg for their blogs and using WordPress for their text articles and content.

    4. How to Delete All Blocks in a Page or Post in one step ?

    5. Currently, the only possibility is to Delete the entire Page / Post or use Classic Editor Plugin until that plugin is no longer supported.

    Gutenberg is supposed to make it easy – but all it does is add a million steps to a simple blogging operation.

  • I just double checked and if I copy 10 paragraphs into a post, I can delete them all just by highlighting all the text and pressing the delete key. I can also delete them all by typing Cmd+A (or Ctrl+A) to select all the text and then pressing the delete key, or I can even type Cmd+V (or Ctrl+V) to paste over them with new paragraphs.

    I’m not clear what method of deletion is missing here, or what the difficulty is?

    I can’t find any highlight or selection tool to select All Blocks.

    Also, when one block is selected, it does not allow to select more than that one block.

    However on clicking outside these block area but within the editor – and using Ctrl+A selects all the Paragraph Blocks – then the delete works.
