• Hi Team,

First, thank you for providing this great plugin!

I am now searching for my problem to solve.

We are using your plugin in Japanese, and it is well translated.

Still, I notice that some URLs are also using Japanese words.

Words are… month, list, today, event, today > all from the list view.

It would not cause any problems, but it looks ugly, and it will be a bit long URL when it decoded to UTF-8 (ex: sharing a URL on Twitter).

I have (re)translated some words by using a translating plugin (ex: Loco), but it will be overwritten when the plugin is updated. I suppose this is not the right way.

    Therefore, my question will be…

Is there any way to overwrite some specific words from Japanese to English? Like the code on Functions.php?

Thank you for your support in advance.

    Hello!

Thanks for your message! I have a quick question for you. Which versions of our plugins are you using? Also, do you have a URL you can send me that I can check? ??

I’ll be looking forward to your reply.

    Hi @tokyobiyori,

    Thank you for your reply.

The version WAS … we start with 5.8.0 and now we use the latest one.

Every time I updated, a language file also updated. So, permalinks turned back to Japanese.

We especially noticed that a word “event” is using on the search panel of the list view page and also a permalink.

At this moment, working on the staging site and cleaned it all up yesterday, I cannot send you anything… Sorry about this.

I shall send you a message again when it is ready.

But, as I mentioned, is there any way to adjust some words by setting on functions.php?

It is much easier and faster. We do not need to translate these words with the language file for every updates.

Ohhhhhh you are correct! I can see it now.

かしこまりました。I will open a ticket and follow up with you soon. Thanks for your report! ??

    Hi,

Thank you for checking it out. I suppose “event” is the only one “displayed” and “used on the permalink”.

We use your plugin as simple as possible, so I have not checked all pages. Sorry about this.

Honestly, I do not want to share a staging site URL on this forum. I might send you screen shots soon.

Oh, speaking in Japanese… Well, I noticed “TOKYOBIYORI” is the word that you have to know well enough about Japan. ありがとうございます。宜しくお願いします。

    Hi,

I am not sure if I reply you in Japanese or English, but for other users, I shall reply you in English.

As you wrote on the previous message, shall I wait for your reply? Not sending you screen shots?

Do I need to send you a url?

Apology for asking you so many. I suppose you confirmed what and which words I am pointing out. I only ask you for some key words such as “today, list, month, events” on the list view and month page.

Some other Japanese users might prefer to keep in this way.

It would be much better if we can only (re)translate some specific words by using functions.php.

    All best,

Yes please, essentially I’m checking with my team if this behavior can be changed as indeed, encoded URLs are not good to use. You don’t have to send me anything, I was able to replicate it on a test site that my team can use to check ??

Ideally, I’m hoping we can make this optional so the user can input their own words if they want instead of translating them automatically.

    I’ll keep you updated ??

    Hi @tokyobiyori

I must apologize to ask you this again and again and again…

I suppose this is still a long way to go, but could you please ask your team to look into this?

I am not sure about other language. It is really weird and a long url for the event pages.

Again, thank you for your support in advance, but it is too far long to wait…

    Hi @jaimemarchwinski

Thank you so much for your asking.

No, Nothing. I am still waiting and I thouhgt you drop this case.

I do still translate the file with Poedit or Loco to change the words for the permalink, but it is annoying to keep on doing this…

I hope you or your team work this out.
