I’m using the ‘Text’ widget in my sidebar and I’d like to style the text (ie. add bolding, colour etc to titles and perhaps a style for a sub head which may be a different size). There doesn’t seem to be any text styling option in widgets…?

    Any advice very much appreciated!

  • You can try a plugin or since you can use html in widgets, you could create the styling in “Visual” mode(on a test post) then switch to “HTML” view and copy that code generated and paste it directly into the sidebar?

    Just a thought.

I haven’t tried any others but this one I like a lot.

You can assign a WordPress page as the content in the widget. You just have to choose the options to exclude the page from the menu and make sure its not showing in your All In One SEO pack if you are using that, etc.

The first method – styling the text in a page on visual mode, changing to HTML mode and then cutting and pasting the HTML into the sidebar text in widgets worked perfectly! Many thanks for your input guys. Much appreciated! ??

    Glad it worked for you!

I know some people are worried about trying some html, but that is a pretty safe way to try.

Always avoid a plugin if possible.
