Categories not working!!! PLEASE HELP

  • I have spent lots of time figuring out what the problem with the categories of my blog is.

    I just installed WordPress, created a category and then created a post with that category and also a tag for it.

    When I look at the post on my homepage (https://blog.theredpin.com/) I can see the tags and the categories its under, but when I click on one of these tags or categories I get “Sorry, but there aren’t any posts in the Romance category yet.” ??? I have tried everything but somehow my tags and categories don’t get connected to my posts.

    Even on my dashboard it shows under categories I have posts, but when I click on the number of posts to view the actual posts, nothing comes up?

    Thank you so much in advance, I feel like there is nothing I can do to get this started and I am too excited and too late to sit around!

  • Very odd! I just checked out the site and it doesn’t make sense whats going on.

    I would modify your permalinks. Go to the admin – settings – permalinks and change it to something different, such as the date or custom using this:

    %category/%postname%

    See what happens and let us know!

    Also, did you install a plugin that may be causing the challenge? Try disabling any plugins you installed, if you did.

    Thank you guys so much for getting back to me, but sorry NO luck!!! I changed the permalinks before too, but did it again. I haven’t installed any plugins, I had just deleted the previous wordpress (which had the same problem) then reinstalled this and the first thing I did was to check and see if this was solved!

    so any other ideas?? thank you so much I really don’t know what to do and have spent lots of time reading everything!

    I checked the database and there seems to be a table wp_term_relationships and under it the categories and posts are interconnected … I would have assumed this is the table with the broken content, but I guess thats not the case!
