I’ve now seen the reviews for the WooCommerce PayPal app and am thinking I should just remove this payment option, but maybe someone can help…

When someone goes to checkout and selects the PayPal option icon, it jumps to the top and says “Could not create token.”

When selecting “inspect” then “console” I see the following errors “Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 ()”
AND “Failed to load resource: net::ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT”

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @derricksmythe,

Could you please try activating the default theme Storefront and also disable all other plugins except for WooCommerce and PayPal Payments to rule out a potential conflict?
Problems with the token creation are usually the result of firewalls or some other security mechanism blocking the connection to PayPal.
    Thanks!

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

Thank you, Niklas. I have done as you suggested and switched to the default WooCommerce Storefront theme and disabled all plug-ins but this did not change the behavior of Paypal within WooCommerce. Aside from ditching WooCommerce altogether, which is a definite possibility, is there any other options that might allow them these two to coexist and function properly?

After reading a few more posts from others elsewhere, it seems the issue was my PayPal email address and WordPress email addresses were not the same and this was causing the disconnect. After adding the email address I use to manage my WordPress site to my PayPal account everything appears to be working.

    Hi @derricksmythe,

Thanks a lot for the feedback.
That’s certainly interesting and something I forwarded to our developers.
So you just added the same email address from the WordPress admin in your PayPal account as described here and it resolved the token creation issue for you?: https://www.paypal.com/us/smarthelp/article/how-do-i-add%2C-edit-or-remove-an-email-address-on-my-paypal-account-faq1797

Since you added the email address, does everything work as you would expect or did you encounter any other issues?

    Kind regards,
    Niklas
