[Plugin: eShop] Eshop help needed with getting started

    Hi
    I have spent all day trying to work out the following, when I start listing products in draft page mode for testing and general experimenting with the plugin , I assign the parent page but when I then try to add products its not showing in the attributes drop down so I am unable to start adding departments, I have also experimented with the shortcodes, am I right in thinking I copy and paste them in? if so, this is not working for me, somewhere I am missing something very obvious and have looked for help on all the relevant forums. Any help would be appreciated. Please use simple terms , I am not that literate with coding etc!

    yes, give me an example of the shortcode you are trying to add and I’ll see if I spot an error.

    I copy and paste into the page or post having ensured its on HTML not visual

    ok that will only list pages that have the current page as their parent page…

    So if you had that shortcode on Department A page. The only pages listed would be those that had the Parent page set to Department A.

    It may do when I get step 1 sorted, I cannot actually generate any pages yet due to the main store page not showing on the attribute drop down list, this is’nt because its in draft mode? that would’nt make any sense though?

    ok… try again. (and yes draft mode can affect things)

    Create a page called ‘Shop’.

    Crate a page called ‘product’
    On the edit page screen for the ‘product’ you have to set the parent page to ‘Shop’. (parent page is settable via the ‘Attributes’ box)

    have just watched the videos again!
    did as you suggest above , this time I published the shop page (privately) created prodct page , tried to assign it to shop page but its not in the parent drop down……………!!!!!!!!! if I swear in welsh does that count?!

    I tried again , this time the shop page was published live and guess what? its now in the parent drop down, onwards and upwards! its a start, thank you for your time and patience, cofion gorau – best regards

    those issues are all due to the way WordPress works…
