• My site theme (see https://www.excellentadventure.ca) which I call Vinyard is based on the three column theme Trident by Frederic de Villamil (see https://www.eretzvaju.org/download/trident).

    Before installing WordPress 2 months ago, I had never seen PHP or CSSs before so it’s been a learning experience setting things up.

    The main vinyard image can easily be replaced by any other 800 x 383 pixel image and my next update is to add the code to have a rotating image set … once I figure out how to do this.

    Any comments on the site would be appreciated.

    Baden

    Just for clarification, Trident was not designed by Frederic de Villamil, notice his in his right sidebar:

    “Trident is a solid 3-column layout. It was designed and presented to the WordPress Community by Root, formerly of https://www.atthe404.com”

    But, nice modification nonetheless.

    Nice and clean site. I have always liked Trident.

    The easiest way to have a rotating image set is to make several images, throw them all in one directory, make sure you have the rotate.php file in there as well and then when you call your header you use
    background: #ffffff url('headers/rotate.php');

    Works a treat:)

    A lot of people use Photomatt’s rotate.php which I did at first too, but I found it to be a bit slow so I found another, can’t remember where though.

    If you want it, let me know and I will email it to you.

    NIce. very clean. Congrats.

    I like your site, and the photo header is a beautiful shot. If I were you, though, I would consider shrinking it down a bit–on a 1024-768 resolution, it takes up about 60% of the browser window (that’s way too much, imo). I would aim for 30% at the most, keeping in mind that it will look even bigger on an 800×600 resolution.

    I agree, header is beautiful, nice site!
