Royal Mail Click and Drop Integration Stopped Working

    We have been using the Royal Mail click and drop integration with WooCommerce for many years now but recently it has simply stopped working.

    Trying to re-connect from Royal Mail to the site states it has failed
    “The store has been updated but connection to the marketplace failed. Please check your details and try again”

    The details are correct but i have disconnected and (tried) to reconnect to the site. The connection stage works and a Rest API key is created on my Woocommerce site, but then it subsequently does not connect or pull any data. The Last Access date in the woocommerce REST API settings simply states unknown.

    I have conducted tests with my caching and security plugins disabled, and even have gone soo far as to install a brand new WooCommerce site on a subdomain (see clean config report below) but still having the same issues.

    Does WooCommerce log REST api calls in any logs that i can turn on/ review to understand where the problem may be?

    Any help is appreciated.

    With polite respect you haven’t really answered my questions, one of which was whether WooCommerce keeps logs of REST API calls as that would help identify if the calls are failing for a given reason or not making it to the server at all.

    May I also ask what investigation was undertaken for you to reach this conclusion? I do feel like this is simply a “pass it onto someone else” answer before any investigation was done.

    In WooCommerce errors are logged under WooCommerce > Status > Logs. WooCommerce REST API is based on WordPress and you could use a plugin like the one below to log REST API requests and responses:

    For steps and further information about accessing PHP error logs within WooCommerce or on a hosting server see: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/finding-php-error-logs/

    It’s hard to say why communication between your site and Royal Mail is dropping. As my colleague suggested please reach out to the Royal Mail support team and ask them to check the reason behind this failure. Most likely, the support team of Royal Mail will point towards certain errors they see in the logs and ask you to reach out to your hosting provider.

    From our side though we are usually unable to support third-party API integrations, especially since no information about the miscommunication between your site and Royal Mail is available to us.

    Also having this issue. Was working fine for me 15th Sep and no changes to site since. Now stopped working and generic error from Royal Mail site when trying to update.

    Have logged with Royal Mail and asked for logs from their side.

    Can see API keepalive call come in from Royal Mail with 200 response each time I click the ‘update and activate’ button. No other requests logged.
